and four years ago when president obama came to office and issued that executive order that i'm sure we all remember, promising to close guantanamo within a year, that was absolutely the right thing to do. since then, the prisoners of guantanamo have been failed by the obama administration, by the united states congress, by the united states courts, by the majority of the main stream media in the united states and by the american people. that sadly is the truth. when you look at what that means, what does it mean for the people in guantanamo to be -- the most important fact we all need to be aware of on this day, and as mo eluded to, over half of the prescribers in guantanamo have been cleared for release from that prison by a very sober and responsible group of government officials and lawyers, from all the government departments in the intelligence agency in a report issued three years ago. so these are decisions made maybe four years ago. as mo very well put it, these are not people needed to be held because they pose a security risk or because they have ongoing intelligence value
